Prampram Mangrove Restoration Project

The Ocean Rock Base institution in partnership with Ghana Ocean Climate Innovations Hub – GOCIH started the implementation of the Mangroves and ocean literacy project along the Prampram and Kpone landing beach.

The Project commenced with site selection, meeting with Dignitaries ( Chief, Assemblymen, youth leaders, Fishermen among others ), Community engagement, beach cleanup and community-led mangrove plantation.

The use of technology will be integrated in monitoring the sequestering of carbon dioxide along the Kpoi-tei beach and it will be followed with cultivation of shell fishes as an alternative source of livelihood.

This Project was to address the degradation of mangroves along the Kpoi-te Laloi beach and  address climate change, provide alternative source of livelihood, ocean literacy and Marine debris removals.
